Looking forward to this project because it combines music and technology which are two interests of mine. John and I have talked about bringing in special guest musicians from the Portland area too, so look for that. Have plans to start recording the audio in higher fidelity. Although because a lot of audio/video is listened/watched online these days people are getting used to content being just “good enough”. For now though, the goal: one song a week, for a year, the Duo Chronicles.

After moving to a two camera setup, editing the video for the project has become a bit more of a process. Hopefully, though, the two camera setup will add a dimension to the project that will prove valuable. The MacBook Pro and iMovie are doing a great job, but it sure does make me want a Mac Pro and Final Cut…

Today, Clay and I got together and recorded the first videos for the project. Since this was the first meeting, a lot of our time was devoted to discussing details, debating setups, making a road map for the future, and all sorts of other tasks that didn’t directly relate to recording.
None the less, we came away with a couple of good takes. The initial recording was done with just one HD camera (using built-in audio), but the plan is to start recording with two cameras running as well as the possibility of using a separate audio track with dedicated mics for each of us.
At this point, the biggest hurdle seems to be that we don’t yet have a name for the project…
